steak saga
here begins the steak saga. but first, a word from our sponsors. here is liz and her building

tonight i wanted to make steak. i bought a top loin cut steak from whole foods. i was looking for something more marbled than the average supermarket steak and having seen kobe steak in pictures, knew better what to look for. unfortunately no naked..eerm..raw steak pictures. so it got a fork prong and side pounding ("tenderizing") and some black pepper (need buy peppercorn grinder) and was stuck in the oven for about 20-30 min @460-500 degrees on an elevated bed of tinfoil and on butter. (i think a mistake here was not letting the steak cook in its own juices). it came out looking a little bit bland. i threw on a bit of worcestershire sauce but not too much to mask how it really tasted. the sauce was for aesthetic effect. and then fancied it up! here it is with the perfectly cooked asparagus:

this picture is just for the smoke effect
i like my steaks medium rare and that was what i tried to go for. first few cuts were just right, (and omg this cut is tender!) however i still need to teach my camera to behave:
the steak was very good but after a few hours of clothes shopping followed by food shopping (during which i was so hungry i was popping sushi), eating at 9 pm just didn't appeal to my stomach anymore. here is what i couldn't finish. it got to be classified as downright "raw" in the middle but trust me, i've eaten steak more raw than this and it was tasty (and this was even better).
afterwards it was time for some fruit. i believe next time the steak should also feature this fruit.

Mmm, steak. That's a thick puppy. Why not get an indoor grill and grill that shit right?
