dream

last night i had a cool dream. aliens were invading the earth in UFOs that were shooting immensely powerful blue lasers from their bases (much in ID-4 style) into cities and destroying them (and they didn't have the weak spot the ID-4 UFOs did). so naturally, the people who had watched ID-4 were dispersing from the congested areas of the cities. (yes this thought process was in my head during my dream) for some reason though, our cities were surrounded by these moats of tropical water and there were no boats visible. beautiful, really, but puts a damper on escape attempts. i think i was with my childhood friend yvonne who later morphed into my brother (and then looked really fat). we ran around this gorgeous glass building situated with stairs running into the tropical water and discovered alien foot soldiers amassed at its base gathering for battle. so we ran away and ran into a scientist who showed us an enormous (glass-looking and quite pretty) missile that had been dropped into the city 50 years ago when the aliens had first attacked. we wondered why we had never known about this and the scientist sent us back in time.

the same thing was going on, the UFOs were there, but there were no foot soldiers. we passed by this scuba shop and asked for wetsuits and they were very kind and lent them to us, almost as though they had been expecting us to ask, even though they seemed oblivious of the aliens. the nice thing about dreams is the wetsuits were cool and quite dry, and of course we didn't ask for any breathing equipment. we swam around while the UFOs kept attacking and tried to figure out what was going on. there were other people in the water but they seemed quite cold. we were trying to tell them to spread out. suddenly the UFOs started swooping over individual buildings and targeting people. we ducked under water and held our breaths until they passed by. then they began dropping the same missiles we had seen 50 years in the future. the missiles just dropped and made huge splashes (they didn't actually harm you unless they fell on you). we went to one to try to figure out its secret but then i woke up.

my dreams sometimes pick up from where they leave off the time before so maybe there will be more
