karma

i went to utah and snowboarded this past weekend (yay!) and it was the most eventful vacation ever but i'll write about it later. (this serves as a self-reminder). let's bitch about the faxroom supervisor in my work place. greasy, pilot-glasses wearing sleazy, hair combed back, big teeth, and looks women up and down when they walk past him. i've taken to crossing my arms over my chest when i'm walking toward him and covering my ass with my hands or whatever papers i'm holding when walking away. sometimes he appears around a corner very suddenly and, just as suddenly, i'll cover myself as appropriate. i bet he hates it. i hate him too.

in all seriousness, he is a shit example of a human. there are about 5-6 employees who work under him, and he lords over them. for much of the day, they wait in the faxroom until called on a task. he will not let them read/study/do crossword puzzles, etc. while waiting. which is actually understandable given that it is a workplace environment. BUT. he will not let them perform administrative tasks under other supervisors either. one of them (who i think should actually supervise the faxroom) asked to do some work for another department (of a non-time-sensitive nature so that he could drop it if something the faxroom required came up) and the faxroom superviser refused him. so, most of the day these employees are sitting around bored. it is a matter of control. the greasey excuse for human likes to keep his underlings in tight rein, groveling at his feet and such. he once assigned a job to the employee who bought him lunch one day. whenever i bring him something that needs to be delivered by hand, he always acts like the schedule is entirely full and that he can't send one of his other 3 employees to make the delivery. MEANWHILE, he tells those remaining employees to "look busy". WHAT IS THAT?

i've heard him announce to people "i'm not here just to order people around." but, he doesn't allow his employees any opinion in organizing deliveries. i've gone up to him and said i want to have someone here deliver this rather than fedex it to save money. he tells me "i'm the one who saves a lot of money here".

he has told my friend at work that if he were stuck alone in an elevator with her he certainly wouldn't keep his hands to himself. if any time he ever says anything like this to me in the office, i'm going straight to human resources re: sexual harrassment.

his bosses only see the product (which is fairly easy to accomplish given that there are quite a few people under him to assist with the little he feels he needs to do) so they are unable to do anything about it. it's about damn time karma catches up with him.
