this is all snowbird. i have heard the best place in the utah park city area is alta, but it doesn't allow snowboarders. snowbird covers both sides of a mountain that used to be mining country. the miners cleared out most of the trees and i guess blasted through much of the rock to get their quarry. once they finished they left a mountain that was quite easily turned into a resort. snowbird is very wide and fairly high although somewhat too bare for my liking. i hope the pine trees grow back in because i am very fond of glades. snowbird does have several nice long chutes that are essentially like half-pipes for snowboarders. or see-saws for the less advanced boarders :) i started going over real jumps for the first time and landed a really big one on the last day.

we stayed in salt lake city, UT, and I SAW MORMONS. or, i think a family of them. in the airport. 20 women and children held up signs that all said "E" or "eric". their patriarch maybe =)
