What are the odds he makes it? I say he doesn't. I bet at one point or another he'll get in a car and drive for a bit. Maybe go drive thru at McDonald's. Best of luck to him though.
i dunno, i think he's going to make it or collapse doing it. i read through the journal and he gets put up by people in hotels and their homes. two hikers once offered him a hotel room but he had to pick between a location 30 miles ahead and a location behind. he opted for the one ahead, but then took a greyhound back to where he had left off walking to start at that spot again. missing 30 miles in walking across the country isn't percentage-wise a big deal but it would have made all that difference to him. he's doing it for conquest.
